NEWS RELEASE: C&D World Exceeds Expectations: CDRA Celebrates Success of Annual Conference

Chicago, IL (February 19, 2024) – The Construction & Demolition Recycling Association’s (CDRA’s) annual convention, C&D World, was held Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, bringing together industry participants to share knowledge and tackle challenges faced by C&D recyclers.

With its biggest turnout yet, C&D World 2024 welcomed top executives and attendees from around the globe to Bonita Springs, Florida. The event commenced with an open Membership Meeting, featuring discussions on all facets of the association's operations, along with recognition of outstanding industry achievements through an awards ceremony.

Keynote speaker Bill Adams, chief economist for CDRA member Comerica Bank, kicked off the informative sessions with a comprehensive economic forecast, shedding light on crucial market trends.

A panel discussion featuring presenters from small, medium and large operations provided diverse perspectives on optimizing plant operations. Day One of the event also featured sessions addressing pressing industry concerns, such as fire prevention in recycling plants, emphasizing risk mitigation strategies.

Day Two of the conference featured a roundtable of top executives sharing their insights on the evolving C&D market landscape and their strategies for positioning their companies accordingly.

Circularity emerged as a theme, with Will Paddock from WAP and Brock Hill from Premier Recycle discussing how they have leveraged the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program and capitalized on circularity opportunities.

The convention featured a Technology Forum that provided attendees with the opportunity to explore cutting-edge equipment and innovative ideas within the exhibit hall, which featured a diverse array of vendors spanning the C&D industry.

An exclusive tour of a Southwest Waste recycling facility closed out the conference. The tour provided attendees with firsthand operational insights and included a Q&A session led by General Manager Sean Brewer.

C&D World highlighted innovation and actionable insights, setting a new standard for collaboration in the recycling industry.

The CDRA looks forward to continuing its mission of fostering partnerships and advancing sustainable practices within the C&D recycling industry.


 

The Construction & Demolition Recycling Association serves a national membership base, providing representation with regulators and legislators, working toward market development for recycled materials and facilitating industry education and networking.
